In cooperation with our colleagues of the VU Amsterdam, RIKS will work in the Asian Development Bank-funded project 'Improving land use change simulation capacity to reduce conflict from competing land use demands' to develop a user-friendly interface for land use modeling. Staff from Universities within the countries connected to the Mekong river will be trained in land use change modelling with the ultimate goal of supporting government agencies with the latest science in the field of land use planning. The kickoff meeting with all involved stakeholders will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, this week.
